Graphic Designs have been under utilized by RapBattles.com, that is until now. This is where for those who are new and fresh to graphic designs to ask questions and get answers regarding design related subjects.

Below is a list of subjects to be discussed...

So is Graphic designing mashing two other artist images, and using brishes someone else created to blend them?

Short answer. yes. that would be graphic design. But graphic design is a very broad term. A graphic designer is a 'graphic' 'designer'. In essence, we design graphics. More often than not this will be on the computer for someone to associate themselves as a graphic design. you know. logos. website design. posters. teeshirts. a bokk youve read, in essence, its more than what you describe, but it also isnt..

Now your example is an example. and yes i do appropriate other peoples art. But its also usefull for illustration. I can find the pose i want from a photo, Frankenstein a concoction of parts. and then sketch over and delete the base. Now other people know better models than I do / paid more.

But in the end of the day if youre serious about graphic design. you gotta take your source pictures yourself. create the source art yourself. You couldnt sell others work without their permission. Copyrights n what not. Although i think you only need to change the image 10% to defeat the copyright. Either way, Id rather come fresh than bite. Although im not against inspiration from others.

As for brushes. sure. if you like those. I just prefer subtle fades and making the image elememts that dont belong to the background to relate to the background.
