Okay mixing down vocals using a condensor mic(i need help)

My vocals sounds good on the computer but when i hear them on a stereo it sounds like their some what muffled one process i use is compression that 4:1 ratio does anyone have any advice for what i'm doing wrong

for most part i keep it simple using cool edit
    noise reduction
    compressiong
    reverb
then i use a given equalizing effect listed on the internet

it could be to much cmpression

BUT it could also be your mixing in different speakers are your speakers on your computer studio monitores or normal speakers?

what sounds good on one set of speakers may not on annother

if you can, plug your pc speaker output into your stereo. They're most likely better speakers. your mixing process isnt that great either. you want noise reduction > compression > EQ > Reverb > Delay in that order. that should help you get off on the right foot.

    oh foreal
yea I was listening to a few acapellas on my speakers(which aren't monitor speakers) and they did sound a little to compressed I just found out about the delay effect so on my next track i'm going to use the steps that you provided above in that order

    thanks for feedback guys

    peace
