Damn you got a digi02 and you skimmped on the mic? WTF? You'll just end up upgrading the mic soon, once you get your set up just right.

Well, I'm not sure of your set up, but with the 02, you should either already have a rack, or you need to get one (that is if you are going to fill it with equipment in the future. make sure you are using decent studio cables, or your are going to drive yourself nuts isolating wierd shit in your mix. monitors are a must, and don't skimp there, wait until you can buy a quality pair. right now you have a decent set up, now you just have to integrate the bitch. If you are running pro tools on that machine, make sure that is all you are doing with it. pro tools does not like to run a operating system drive, so it's recommend you load it on a seperate one. you are going to have to disable just about everything on your system while running pro tools, or else you will have errors like whoa. digi o2 is a powerful tool, so have fun man, shit I used to record my band on that thing. that control surface for it is overkill at this point, but after you get tired of on screen fader tweaks you might want the real feel of real faders. atleast you have the option. automation is dope when you're blazed man, once you get to that point you'll see what I mean.

ummm... no. lol he'll be getting a better mic in 1 - 3 years depending on how long it takes him to realize what an expensive mic does for your presence and save up the money to afford a mic thats worth repacing the NT1 with.

NT1 is the high end of the low end ... so it performs like many low end of the high ends so he could keep the NT1 and still have nice quality it doesn't take a neumann or telefunken to sound good .. thats to sound fucking amazing .. so nt1 should do him nice .. pz.
