a taste of
disappointment
as I step into
your office.
everyone cancelled
no phones ringing,
no hot doctors
of love -
or playful hatred
at this moment in the hour
glass.
it breaks
shattered & ripped
from the sole up,
right to hearts.
long & far
searched & destroyed
come & gone
still,
still it is.
a dying race
cancerous finish-lines,
cigarette's burn -
but this is more intense.
no emotions
yet completely anxious
nervous, & ready -
but still we & I
wait our days alone.
tests with no answers,
just leaves the problem.
no diagnosis,
& no chance to repair
what's been broken
many
many,
many times before.
& now she, they all
sit there
prettied up in their
dollhouse ways -
nothing's real though..
artificially they play
games that are never won,
day by day
night by night;
fight & fight
but the battle is never won.
blood-thirsty
for love...
lost & never found,
the good girls
where have all the good girls gone?
