notice in the video they put the noose knot on him positioned in a matter where it would allow for the back of the neck to snap. The knot determines the point at which the neck will break.
Placing the noose in the front, or on the shoulder makes it less likely for him to choke to death because he's neck didnt break.

The height he fell from didn't seem high enough to break a neck, atleast not my neck. One time I got hit by a car right on my skull and I was like, lol wtf. And then I jogged around my block fighting off Mexicans with stabbing weapons.
