I downloaded antares mic modeler and i was wondering if i can add that to the plugins list on the side of the multi-tracks in the direct x portion or something. also i was wondering what the best mic to use was as well.

ok... there msut eb a way to do that.. lol to get mine in there.. i just deleted cool edit and re installed it..then it was just on there... i dunno bout that...
but if you go to all the help you need...(sticky)
and go to cool edit... and cool edit process by alctraks... he'll tell you wat to do with mic modeler!

you gotta refresh ur effects list and then it should show up. its an okay plugin...helps somewhat if u got a shitty mic. best one to use?....well all i can say is just experiment.

As far as alcas process goes its fine for a beginer but the way i see it yo u really gota work with your shit like learn how to produce on our own mess around see what works for you to make you sound what you wanna sound like and read lots of literature on production and sound engineering..... or take the cop out and use alcas process whatever no hate to alca thats how i started .. aight then pz.
